Acorn Montessori
Information
Acorn Montessori is an independent Nursery School that moved to Cartmel in 2016. Located within the Primary School building, the Nursery School aims to provide high quality nursery education for children aged two and a half to five years from all over the Cartmel peninsula.
The manager, Melanie Knight, heads a team of highly qualified and dedicated staff, who pride themselves in providing a wide and varied curriculum within a calm and caring atmosphere. Following the ethos of the Montessori Method of Education, the children are taught individually and progress at their own pace.
Great emphasis is placed on developing good social skills, outdoor learning and exploratory play. Regular walks round the village and visits to the woods provide wonderful opportunities for the children to learn about nature and develop an appreciation for their local environment.
The children are prepared to transition to all the Primary Schools in the local area.
